Q. Are you an EAP (Employee Assistance Program) provider?
A. No. If you wish to use your EAP benefits, please bring this to my attention so you can be referred to an EAP counselor.
Q. What types of Insurance to you accept?
A. I accept most commercial insurance, including Medicare. I DO NOT accept Medicaid.
Q. What if I don't have insurance or my insurance doesn't cover my treatment?
A. I also accept self-pay in the form of credit card (MasterCard, Visa), check or cash.
Q. HOW LONG ARE THERAPY SESSION?
A. 45 minutes, unless otherwise agreed upon.
Q. HOW LONG DOES THERAPY TAKE TO MAKE CHANGES?
A. Each patient’s problems are unique, sometimes a one time consultation is all that is requested by your physician or school personnel. Other times brief therapy is all that is needed, usually 6 to 10 visits. If you require a longer intervention we can work together to make it affordable and manageable.
Q. DO YOU HAVE EVENING AND WEEKEND HOURS AVAILABLE?
A. I am available to schedule appts Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. I do not routinely see patients on weekends.
Q. IF I AM BRINGING MY CHILD, HOW DO I EXPLAIN TO THEM ABOUT the nature of THERAPY?
A. Explain to them that they are not in trouble, that I am a “feelings Dr” and that I will help them work on resolving the problems they are experiencing. I have “no shots” and we talk and play in a comfortable setting.
Q. WHAT KIND OF “THEORY” OF PSYCHOLOGY DO YOU FOLLOW?
A. As a board certified medical psychologist I examine the patient's concerns holistically; psychologically, societally, familially, culturally and medically conceptualizing the patient’s personal narrative from a developmental framework and tailor specialized and integrative health interventions from an array of broad schools of thought/techniques.
